People, Love.

Greetings from my 2012 Comedy Hypnosis Tour.

I write this from West Springfield, MA, where I am performing at the astonishingly beautiful The Big E Fair. I have been so blessed with such great audiences, and being able to meet so many people whom I have spent many years with via the television; beamed into their living rooms over the past twenty something years.

We knew we were like family but didn’t know how deep a connection we had formed, until One Life To Live was gone and we could not visit anymore on a regular basis.

Lots of happy tears have taken place here. This is why I love touring so much.

I’m so blessed. Day after day, show after show, I get to love on, and be loved on, by so many incredible people. I am truly happy that I chose a profession where I could connect to people on a level that is deeper than I ever imagined.

This has been quite a ride so far.

Every night I experience real magic. I have made new friends, met many social media friends I only knew by a little picture on my computer, and have entertained and connected with people ranging in ages from 6 to 85!

People love to laugh, love to be together, love to connect, and people love to see something unusual.

People, love.

As I explain in the beginning of the show, “Hypnosis is not something I do to you, it is something we do together.” People always tell me they can’t believe how good they feel after a show, how peaceful they feel (both the audience members as well as the volunteers) and the real magic is, it’s them who make it happen.

It is their mind that takes them there, not mine.

When people stop smoking, lose weight, overcome pain, illness,  find their mojo, choose happiness or sadness, it is their mind that creates it, not mine. I am just the tour guide. The truth is, all they needed was to be shown that their power is within. They have always had the power in them, just like you have the power within you, right now. We were created to be great and powerful beings, whatever that means to us.

Learn what that means to you. You have to be in it to win it.

Sometimes we allow ourselves to be paralyzed by our fears. We believe that we must accept what is happening and we just give up from exhaustion, and fright, which go hand in hand.

I have allowed it, many times. I know the feeling all too well.

When I learned a little something about the mind, I refocused my thinking patterns and now prefer to look at it and think about challenges in a different way. I believe we must acknowledge what is happening, and take it from there. Caving in and falling apart is not an option when we must and want to move forward. If we need to, we can take a rest, we can take a break, and put it aside, as long as we are not in denial about what we are doing. The only time we give up is when we are absolutely sure we are done with a feeling, a situation, a relationship, a job, whatever it is, and, be done with it.

It’s hard to move forward from something until we are done.

If we are not done, then we must claim that we are taking a break, and give ourselves a time when we will get back to the solution, then peacefully relax, recharge, regroup and most of all, refresh.

I recently met a man who lost his wife to cancer six years ago and has had a hard time moving forward. He has been living in his grief; he was feeling sad, lonely, and somewhat hopeless.

However, his inner want was to be able to somehow move forward and find love again; this was evident to me. So I took him on a small mental journey to allow his mind to explore the possibilities that are still ahead of him, and then watched his sadness become hope. His mind turned a corner, in an instant. Change is absolute, we will have to experience it many times in this life. Embrace the notion that often it is for the better, even though it may not seem like it at the time.

Changing ourselves and how we think is a different animal.

Change is easy, it happens in an instant. It’s the decision to change that is hard. However, when we have had enough, we will find a way. When we learn to redirect our focus, and then focus on the positives to overcome and rise above the negatives, we will see our lives change for the better. Your mind follows your own direction.

Nothing good can come to us when we have the barrier of fear as our shield. But, being fearless is nonsense, sometimes our fears are there to protect us, that is what intuition is for, and this is healthy. To be taken down by the fears that we manufacture is another thing altogether.

Remember who you are. Remember whose you are. Notice the words that come out of your mouth, because your mind takes direction beautifully. Eliminate the words try, and can’t from your vocabulary. Replace them with I will, and I can.

Soon, You will start to notice other people’s negative language.

Just these small changes will make a huge difference.

If you need to, take an appointed break from your emotions and RE-FOCUS.

Be aware of your thoughts, and get good with yourself. Remember that you really are not in this alone, and pray for peace and guidance, and then listen in your stillness.

You are loved.

Love always,
Cat XO

Big City Girl

I have been a card-carrying city girl my whole life.

That being said, I always had an affinity for anything with fuzz, feathers, fur and even scales.  I love animals, and I incorporated them into my city-girl life because they brought me such joy, they needed me and I needed them.  In Manhattan, we had five cats and three dogs. If the snobby co-op board had known, we would have surely been out on the street.

I thought I had the perfect combination of Green Acres in reverse.

That being said, I have never been a camping-in-a tent, hiking-up-a-mountain girl.

I don’t like being hot (especially these days) or uncomfortable by my own choosing, and bathing in a lake is my personal nightmare. Probably because when I was 16 I did just that and found myself eye to eye with a water snake. I literally walked on water, and haven’t put my toe in a pond since. Until the grizzly bear, but more on that later.

I’ve been through some great and been through some bad… and through it all, I’ve been blessed. In different incarnations of my life, I’ve lived in some of the most incredible cities in the world; New York City, Los Angeles, Rome, Italy and now, Las Vegas.

Do we see a pattern here? Big. City. Girl.

I had just moved to Las Vegas, bought my home, started producing my show, and intended to live there happily single for the rest of my life. Oh yes, this girlfriend had plans.

And then Todd came into my life.

Todd Fisher turned my life upside down, inside out, and right side up… in the best way possible.

Todd grew up a city boy (Beverly Hills) and 24 years ago, wound up moving to a remote city on the Central Coast of California. He built a beautiful ranch, and I mean, he built it with his own two hands. He was married to a wonderful girl, named Cristi.

During those same years, I lived in New York City, married to a wonderful person too. Acting my heart out on soaps and Broadway.

Then I started my cosmetics company. Big. City. Girl.

Five years ago, Todd lost Cristi to cancer while I was on the other side of the country, my marriage ending. After being married for 17 years, dating was not for me. I felt that there were too many emotional vampires walking around in "normal people" suits, wasting my time.

I took a year and a half off from it all, and found it a blissful experience to spend that time with myself. Being alone and spending time with only my closest friends gave me a chance to find out who I was, why I had attracted such odd experiences, and how utterly easy it was to change it and live a peaceful, non-chaotic life.

I ended up writing a book about it too, called "The 30 Day Heartbreak Cure."

On the last days of the sabbatical, Todd entered my sphere.

Worlds collided. Stars were crossed. Sparks were flying, and the angels sang...

I thought I was at my peak of happiness in Las Vegas, all on my own. I had no idea on Earth what I was missing. There really are decent people to be in a relationship with in this world. There really is someone for everyone. It’s all about where we are are in our head, and being in love with our own soul first.

When we are ready, we recognize and appreciate a good person when we see them, are not fooled by imposters, and we are able to receive the good with open arms.

When I met Todd, I was so solid with myself that I would not have given that peace up for anything less than who he is, and he is spectacular. The only thing was, we lived in different states.

Thank God they are only six hours apart.

Still, with me embarking on a new career in a new city, it took some finessing. I would not twist my life into a knotted pretzel for anyone who was not worth it. He is the best man I know, and as hard as it was in the first year, he has been worth all of it and much more.

After nearly three years together, we share our time between these two states, and several others when I'm touring or he is on location filming. There is no one else I would rather be with.

Happily, I have been officially stripped of my big city girl status. I walk barefoot through the literal clover, stare at the mountains like a fool, and watch the sunset with wonder and amazement every evening. I love my life, and I am so grateful for all it.

Without Todd, I would not be Buddy Boo’s mother.

Without Todd, I would have never fed a grizzly bear a Snickers... with my teeth.

Without Todd, I would have gone my whole life never knowing what real love is.

So if you are out there on your own, please know that I believe, (because I am living proof), that if you want it, real love waits for you too.

And if you don’t believe it, I will believe it enough for both of us until you do.

Get ready, the ball is in your court.

Love Always,
Cat XO

The Mother is Everything!

"The mother is everything - she is our consolation in sorrow, our hope in misery, and our strength in weakness. She is the source of love, mercy, sympathy, and forgiveness. He who loses his mother loses a pure soul who blesses and guards him constantly."  --Kahlil Gibran

May is Mother Day Month, and since my mom and I have been on a lifelong journey together, I dedicate this inspiration to Mother Mary.

I was not immaculately conceived. I did have a dad, but My father and my mother had a rocky marriage at best, and by the time I came along, things were falling apart at the seams. They made it another four years, and after that, it was just plain over. My mom found herself with 3 kids, a failed marriage, no job skills, and an uncooperative ex husband. She had a complete emotional meltdown, and understandably so.

Many women I meet today are in this same boat, and when they talk about their lives, my heart goes out to them because I grew up in the chaos of what that can create, and I completely get it. For a while I lived with my Dad and then both my grandmothers. Living with my Dad made me independent, and my grandmothers were like second mothers to me. But by the time I went back to live with my mom, I was an willful independent teenager who needed to be corralled and Mother Mary took me to task.

No teenager likes to be harnessed, but when you aren’t reigned in as a child, that’s what you get. I became a feisty rebel. I was still a good daughter, but I can’t imagine what I’d be if I hadn’t had my mother to get me in line. Of course, none of this occurred to me at the time. I was too busy being resentful.

In my early twenties, it hit me like a lightening bolt. Everyone did their best. I realized that one day I too, would be required to show grace, patience, love, and draw boundaries, even if people didn’t like it. The boundaries are for all of us, and without them, our lives become a mess. I didn’t realize then that my mother was drawing boundaries all over the place, but today, when I have to draw a line in the sand with people, I remember that it is the most loving thing I can do for them, and for me. When people behave inappropriately in your life, draw the line in the sand, and keep to it. They may hate you for it today, but one day when they gain emotional intelligence, they will see that it was the most loving choice to make.

I thank my Mom for being strict with me. Now she is 90, and I couldn’t love her more. She made something out her life, and mine. Everything I do is for her, because without her, there would be no me. Remember on this Mothers Day to thank your mom for the good, take the best and leave the rest. Give a good and meaningful heart felt hug, and say the words. It’s worth more than a present J Love. Love. Love.

Yours, Cat
